Established in November 2010, Tyge Aleksander Wellness began as Bodhi International Wellness Center in New York. The center was a healing center using the modalities of medical massage therapy and reiki. As the business grew, more and more clients began asking for coaching in overall health and wellness, as well as life coaching. As a result, Aleksander became certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health and Wellness Coach in order to support the growing demand and the business slowly transitioned into a health and wellness coaching business.
After a years of coaching, it became clear how great a need there was to address issues related to trauma, specifically PTSD and C-PTSD, and as such, Aleksander turned his attention to this need as he specialized his approach. Today, Tyge Aleksander Wellness addresses the specific life and wellness needs of those affected by unresolved trauma.
Most recently, Aleksander has signed on as Starwood Preferred Guest Hotels (SPG) new Fitness and Wellness Programs Director. In examining the role that wellness plays in hospitality, he hopes to improve and re-define the overall guest experience. According to him, since wellness never stops, hospitality is in an unique position to promote and champion the guest experience and people’s perception of wellness. Additionally, Aleksander supports community initiatives by volunteering his expertise and TAW’s coaching services as a life coach for the Ali Forney Center in NYC, working closely with homeless LGBTQ youth.
